This is the question asked by most of the parents as they meet many difficulties in parenting. The moment at which a person became a father/mother is very exciting. After that they are being given a serious responsibility of making their child a good citizen. Parents have great impact on child’s life especially at the growing stage of the child. It will be reflected in character and behavior of the child. Hence, at first what parents have to do is become a role model to their child. It is not very easy but can do if they are willing.
Parents should try to be perfect in front of the children. If you are a parent you may have some faults in your behavior or character. You may get easily annoyed. You may be little bit lazy in work etc. But what you have to do is not show these faults in front of your child. The child should have an attitude of, “my daddy is the best” or “my parents are the best”. If you succeeded in creating this image in your child’s mind, your duty is half done.
Don’t care your child too much. Over care may irritate the child or he is stopped from doing many things with confidence. You have to care your child but don’t over rule them. You have to punish them when they do something wrong that you can never justify .You have to make sure that your child never repeat the fault again.
Children may do many wrongs. Sometimes they don’t know the seriousness of doing so and the consequences.
In such situations parents should not punish them. Call your child and tell him about what he did and how did it become wrong. Parents should teach them respect, courtesy, and all other moral values at their growing stage. Make your child to do their works alone and assist them when they need help. So that they will never feel they are alone and they will know parents are their strength behind.
