Parenting: Develop your child early

Every child has different qualities and you can never compare your child with others on one constraint. Parents should understand this fact and start looking for qualities which their children have instead of which they don’t. Every child is blessed and has some hidden qualities. Not everybody can excel at mathematics, singing or for that matter any subject. Everybody is unique and has his/her own individuality. Parents should understand this fact and instead of reproaching their child, they should examine what they child is best at.

For example if you child has a quality of singing, you can appreciate him and should get him a private tutor or put him in any institution where he can master at music.

Most of us go the traditional way and want our kids to excel at school of our choice instead of taking our child’s inclination into consideration. There are few children who are gifted and have extra ordinary out-of-the-way thinking. They might not be able to excel at academics but if you understand what they are good at and give them a platform to show their proficiency, they can make you proud of them.

As parents you should try to help build their dreams instead of imposing your dreams on them and wanting them to adapt to it. If your child is good at arts, put him in art school. If he is good at music, then put him in music school. If he is good at any sports, appreciate him and get him to join any good sports club where he can excel his quality.

Over 80% of the artists were not good at academics but had an artist hidden in them. Their parents understood that and followed their child’s dream and ambition and now everybody is proud of them.

You should also be aware that kids can develop their interests at later stage as well. It’s a possibility that you kid is good at academics at age 5. At age 6 he develops his interest in painting and at the age of 10, he would want to learn music. You have to be very patient while shaping up your child’s career. You have to examine closely when to allow and when to reject his plea.

There are few extra ordinary children who are multi-talented. You will always have to keep noticing, what your children want to do and what their hobbies are! Find a program which can help them hone their skills. You can also take parenting course to understand how to develop your child’s interests. You can also ask other parents whose kids have same interests.

So never try to mould your child’s preferences forcefully. He won’t be able cope up with that change; instead, he would lose all what is in him. Try to understand your child’s psyche and tag along his curiosities. He will surely make you proud of him one day.
